The smallest member of the Prius family, the c is a bookend to the v hybrid minivan that went on sale last year.
The c should rate 46 m.p.g. on the highway and 50 m.p.g. in combined driving. That's the same combined fuel economy as the bigger Prius hatchback. The c is 19.1 inches shorter and 542 pounds lighter than the hatchback.
The Prius c's hybrid system consists of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, nickel-metal hydride battery, electric motor and continuously variable transmission. It produces 99 horsepower. The Prius c can go up to a mile on battery power alone.

As small cars go the 1007 is very unusual। It was the first car to come with two electric front sliding doors, in the place of conventional opening doors. This means getting in and out when parked in even the narrowest of spaces, is much easier. It also has a stylish interior with interchangeable trim panels. Despite the small dimensions it actually has four seats, but the rear two offer limited space so are only really suitable for kids. More disappointingly, it's not as easy to drive in town as you'd expect and all the engines offered lack performance. However, it's certainly different and although expensive as a new buy, the 1007 is proving to be much better value on the used market, with temptingly low prices.

Despite being a mid-sized MPV, the Altea isn't being pitched as a competitor for the segment's more utilitarian, seven-seat offerings. It's a resolute five-seater, intended to combine a reasonable amount of space with a rewarding driving experience.
The design is certainly distinctive. The Altea bears a close visual relationship with the Leon, sharing its sibling's front-end treatment and heavily contoured flanks. Inside the cabin it is far more conventional, and although the quality of some of the plastic trim doesn't feel that great, it's well constructed and spacious for both front and rear seat occupants. The standard car offers a decently sized boot, while the slightly stretched Altea XL has a massive amount of luggage space. And, if you want to venture a little further afield, there's even the choice of a four-wheel drive model, the Freetrack. True, it's no Land Rover rival, but it does give the car some extra versatility, although the prices are high as it only comes with the most powerful engines in the range.

On the road it's immediately clear that the Altea drives differently from the majority of people carriers. The firmly-sprung suspension gives tenacious roadholding with plenty of grip and good manners as the limits approach. The flipside is a bumpy ride over rougher road surfaces, although the Altea copes with the demands of motorway cruising well enough.
A variety of petrol and diesel engines are available. The entry-level 1.4 and 1.6 litre petrol units lacks urge beyond derestriction signs, but the ultra-modern 1.2 TSI and 1.4 TSI turbocharged units completely demolish the traditional relationship between size and power. Of the diesels, the ancient 1.9 TDI lacks much in the way of punch but the 1.6 TDI and the 2.0 TDI 140 are both excellent.

The 2011 Jeep Compass is redesigned for the 2011 model year with two industry-pleasing changes: an updated exterior and an optional off-road-ready four-wheel drive system.
The 2010 Compass was the black sheep of the Jeep lineup. Its exterior styling didn’t look as rugged as the Jeep Grand Cherokee or Wrangler, and you couldn’t take it off-road. For the 2011 model year, Jeep made the Compass look and act more like its larger, more capable siblings. It gets a redesigned exterior that resembles the Jeep Grand Cherokee, while an optional drivetrain can tackle off-roading duties. Reviewers are pleased with these updates and say they help the Compass nestle more comfortably into Jeep’s lineup. "No, it's no luxurious Grand Cherokee or unstoppable Wrangler,” says Motor Trend, “but the Compass isn't a joke anymore, either."
Despite these changes, some automotive journalists say the Compass still isn’t the best off-road SUV on the market. The Compass struggles in rugged terrain, is fitted with cheap interior plastics and has a tight rear row. It does, however, have two things going for it: great fuel economy for the class and a low base price of $19,295.

Jaguar's XJ luxury sedan has an all-new look that ditches the retro styling of the previous model for a much more contemporary look. Priced from $72,500, the car rivals the BMW 7-Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class lines.
The entry-level configuration comes with a naturally aspirated engine, which is also offered for $79,500 in XJL long-wheelbase guise. The XJ Supercharged carries a price of $87,500, and the XJL version adds $3,000 to the total, for a final price of $90,500. Lastly, the XJ Supersport and XJL Supersport models cost $112,000 and $115,000, respectively.
The tall front end, which no doubt was designed with European pedestrian safety standards in mind, is generally styled like the XF, although the grille juts out further from the fascia. From the side, the XJ takes a vastly different approach as the shape reaches the C-pillar, which does not sweep in the same vaguely Lexus style of the XF.

And then there were twenty. Days after crowding the new 2011 911 Carrera GTS into its portfolio, Porsche announced it has yet another 911 variant -- the 2011 911 Speedster -- debuting at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.
Developed by Porsche's Exclusive division the same group that developed the Europe-only 911 Sport Classic model), the new 2011 Speedster takes a number of cues used on the 1989 and 1993 911 Speedsters and applies them to the current 997 range. The windshield has been chopped by roughly two inches, while the minuscule rear seats are eliminated. An extended double-bubble tonneau covers a mechanically folding top assembly, while the rear end is gifted with the flared fenders and wide track typically found on the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 range.
All 911 Speedsters also receive unique front spoilers, side sills, and rear valances, along with black headlamp surrounds, A-pillar and windshield header trim, and rear wheel spats -- a cue cribbed from the original 1989 Speedster. The Pure Blue paint color shown here was developed exclusively for this model, although customers can opt instead for Carrera White if so desired. Either color will appear inside the cabin, where it'll be used on trim accents, seat bolsters, and seat inserts to contrast the smooth black leather trim.
Mechanically, the 911 Speedster is virtually identical to the new 911 Carrerra GTS, which also makes its international debut at the Paris show. The direct-injection 3.8-liter flat-six-cylinder engine is boosted to 408 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, slotting it directly between the Carrera S and the GT3. Porsche's seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is standard, as is the company's active suspension system and ceramic composite brakes. According to Porsche, the Speedster is good for 0-60 mph sprints in 4.2 seconds, a top speed of 190 mph, and fuel economy on par with a standard Carrera S cabriolet.
As was the case with the first two iterations of the 911 Speedster, production of the 2011 Speedster will be extremely limited. Porsche plans on building no more than 356 examples (cute, no?) worldwide, and anticipates roughly 100 examples will make their way stateside. Pricing will begin at a whopping $204,000 -- roughly $40,000 more than a 911 Turbo S Cabriolet -- and deliveries should begin in early 2011.

In the case of the 2011 Porsche Cayenne V6, it's enough for a bit of a personality change. Through body structure changes, a greater use of aluminum, a new instrument panel and interior components, and all sorts of other means—but most notably by doing away with the old transfer case and low range—Porsche has cut nearly 400 pounds from the Cayenne.
That loss of weight makes a big difference—a difference that we could feel in the V6 especially.
The Cayenne still doesn't feel quite as nimble and responsive as the Infiniti FX35, the vehicle that's in our opinion the Porsche ute's closest rival. But then again, the FX35 doesn't offer anything close to the Cayenne's off-road ability—which is still very much present, as we recently experienced traversing an especially mucky path in Alabama, just managed by electronics.
Over the past several years, the base V6 model has made up nearly 60 percent of Porsche Cayenne sales in North America, so the base offering is definitely here to stay. Porsche says that it has worked to maintain both the Cayenne's off-road ability while improving its performance and focusing on "everyday driving qualities," and it's paid special attention to the V6.

The new, second-generation
Porsche Cayenne SUV has been on sale for just under a year now but like any model from the legendary sports car brand, special editions and uprated models are always in the pipeline. One of these will be the sportier ‘S’ variant of the Cayenne Turbo, which has been spotted testing in prototype form for the first time, where else but at Germany’s Nurburgring circuit.
The current 2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo makes do with a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V-8 delivering an even 500 horsepower. The Cayenne Turbo S, which should arrive towards the end of the year as a 2012 model, is likely to be packing a 550 horsepower version of this engine. This, incidentally, represents the same leap in performance seen in the 2012 Porsche Panamera Turbo S over the regular Panamera Turbo.
The increased engine performance can be attributed to two main enhancements--improved turbochargers with titanium-aluminum turbine wheels and a modified ECU.
Other modifications should include a slightly revised bodykit, new
custom wheels, possibly increasing vehicle track width, as well as more trim options for the cabin. The prototype seen here appears to feature a lower front bumper, additional aero parts at the bottom of the doors, and a heavily camouflaged rear diffuser.

That's a disingenuous offer, really, because the 2011 Jeep Compass is actually pretty decent. As has been the trend recently, Jeep spent what little money it had on fixing the bits that needed it most.
The first thing to go was the old mug. Where the styling of the original Compass was something of a caricature of Jeeps of old that exacerbated its lack of off-road credibility, the 2011 looks pretty good with its mini-Grand Cherokee face. Unfortunately, Jeep didn't make it much past the A-pillars and the rest looks about the same, save new LED taillights and some new wheels.

Jeep didn't get far inside, either. The mildly updated cabin has been augmented by new seat cloth and some soft-touch materials on armrests and such, and nav-equipped models get updated software with easy-to-use Garmin-based navigation. The interior otherwise is the same, with good outward visibility, decent cargo space, and cramped rear seats.
We can forgive that, though, since the real money was spent where you can't see it. The 2011 Compass is now available with Freedom Drive II, the second and more-capable generation of the Compass' all-wheel-drive system. When so equipped, the now-Trail Rated Compass gets a 1-inch lift in ride height to an impressive 8.4 inches (0.3 inches more than the rear axle of a Jeep Liberty), 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, skidplates, tow hooks, a full-size spare, and, most importantly, a second-generation continuously variable transmission with low range. For that, you give up manual shifting ability on the CVT, but it's a worthy trade.

Jeep covered its bases with two takes on the Grand Cherokee at this year's SEMA show, displaying both a "Lowrider" Edition and a globe-crushing Off-Road Edition. When we first heard that Chrysler was planning to shock Las Vegas with a frame-scraping iteration of the Grand Cherokee, we were a little baffled as to why the company would want to defang one of the most off-road capable SUVs out there by dropping it to the ground. It looks like the Jeep Wrangler family will be the next Chrysler bloodline to benefit from the company's excellent new Pentastar V6. Sergio Marchionne, Chrysler CEO, broke the news during the company's third-quarter financial announcement. The new powerplant will likely pack somewhere between 283 and 305 horsepower depending on the tune, and will make for a substantial bump in grunt over the current 202-pony 3.8-liter V6 currently available in the Wrangler.
Still, it will be a good long while before buyers can sink their teeth into the new engine. Marchionne made it clear that the Pentastar won't be available under the Wrangler hood until the 2012 model year.

The 2010 Honda Ridgeline's styling isn't widely loved or appreciated on the outside, but some people warm up to the functionality of the interior.

Honda made a number of small changes to the Ridgeline's styling last year, but the truck's overall look remains the same. Overall, reviewers' responses are lukewarm. Motor Trend says that Honda's pickup offering is "clearly designed to look more familial with the recently released and redesigned Honda Pilot," although some of the styling cues afford "the new Ridgeline a more masculine look." Automobile Magazine reacts a bit more positively, remarking that the styling "works a lot better" than before. Cars.com states bluntly that there are "some problems with the Ridgeline's styling and design," including the fact that "a traditional bed cap or bed-mounted crossover toolbox won't fit, [and] there's a limited selection of tonneau covers." Specifically, updates last year included "a redesigned front fascia, grille, bumper, and taillight assembly," according to Car and Driver.

A number of changes were also made to the interior last year, although the actual location of controls and displays wasn't significantly changed. Automobile Magazine still feels that "whoever was in charge of control placement must have flunked human factors design," thanks to awkward elements, like a sunroof switch sitting next to the tachometer and a dome lamp switch that is isolated from all other cabin lighting controls. Motor Trend delves into the Honda Ridgeline's tiny details to spot "slight changes to the gauge shaping and to the choices of type styles for the tachometer and speedometer." Despite the changes, ConsumerGuide comments that "some radio adjustments require a stretch."

On the positive side, Car and Driver points out that this 2010 Honda Ridgeline features "better switchgear throughout," and "it seems like almost everything inside has been revised in some way."

According to Edmunds the 2009 Cadillac DTS is “a traditional large America luxury sedan.” Car and Driver says the DTS “wears a subdued version of Cadillac's edgy new styling,” and Motor Trend agrees the DTS wears “a light dose of new-wave Caddy styling,” while Cars.com thinks “the new model's styling evokes Cadillac's STS sedan.” Kelley Blue Book says its styling "ties it to the DeVilles of the past." Automedia reports “vertical headlights and taillamps, accompanied by an egg-crate-pattern grille” are part of the heritage cues, while the “more architectural, linear” appearance also sees improvements, such as LED taillamps. Buyers can opt for a tradition, stand-up wreath-and-crest hood ornament, they add.

While flipping through the seemingly endless pages of GM's corporate restructuring (all 117 to be exact) we found something a little interesting, a single photo of the production 2010 Cadillac CTS Coupe that will be built Lansing, Michigan and feature a 3.6L V6 mated to a 6-speed auto transmission. So GM, you're telling us it's basically like the CTS sport sedan, but with two fewer doors? Awesome. It looks like the SORP (Start Of Regular Production) is set for June of 2010 with an estimated on sale date in the Fall. Thanks GM!
